# Add an area

**For:** Manager | Admin
**You'll need:** At least one location.

You'll create an area inside a location, ready to use when you plan shifts.

## Open the area form

1. Go to **Company → Areas** in the left sidebar.
2. Click **'Add new area'** in the top-right.

## Fill in the form

1. Enter a **'Name'** for the area.
2. Open the **'Location'** dropdown and pick the parent location.
3. Click **'Save'**.

The dropdown only shows locations you have access to.

## Verify it worked

The new area appears in the list at **Company → Areas**, under its parent location.
