# Delete an area

**For:** Manager | Admin
**You'll need:** An area that no shift uses.

You'll remove an area from your company.

## Delete the area

1. Go to **Company → Areas** in the left sidebar.
2. Open the area.
3. Click **'Delete'**.
4. In the **'Delete area?'** dialog, click **'Delete area'**.

## Verify it worked

The area no longer appears in the list at **Company → Areas**.

## When you can't delete

You can't delete an area that's referenced by a shift. Reassign or delete those shifts first, then try again.
```
