# Edit an employment type

**For:** Manager | Admin
**You'll need:** An employment type to edit.

You'll update name, code, description, compensation, contracted hours, leave policies, or the default per-weekday hours.

## Open the employment type

1. Go to **Company → Employment types** in the left sidebar.
2. Click the row.

## Make your changes

1. Update any of the fields.
2. Click **'Save'**.

Changes apply to people already on this employment type. Existing leave grants and availability blocks are not retroactively changed.

## Verify it worked

A toast confirms the save and the row in the list reflects your changes.
