# Edit a required skill

**For:** Manager | Admin
**You'll need:** A skill already linked to the position.

You'll toggle whether the skill is hard-required for the position.

## Open the skill

1. Go to **Company → Positions** in the left sidebar.
2. Open the position.
3. Expand the **'Required skills'** section.
4. Click the skill.

## Toggle the requirement

1. Tick or clear the **'Required'** checkbox.
2. Click **'Save'**.

## Verify it worked

The badge on the skill row updates between **'Required'** and the lighter "preferred" style.
