# How to manage billing

**For:** Admin
**You'll need:** Owner role on the tenant. An active or trialing subscription.

You'll open the **Stripe Billing Portal** to update your subscription, download invoices, change your payment method, or cancel.

## Open billing

1. Open the account dropdown (top-right) and click **'Account'**.
2. In the sign-in service, click **'Billing'**.

## Open the Stripe Billing Portal

1. Click **'Manage billing'**.

{{ app_name }} creates a Stripe portal session and redirects you to it.

## What you can do in the portal

- Change the plan or seat count on your subscription.
- Update the payment method.
- Download past invoices and receipts.
- Update your billing email and address.
- Cancel the subscription (you'll keep access until the period end — see {doc}`trials-and-grace`).

When you're done, click **'Return to {{ app_name }}'** at the top of the portal.

## Verify it worked

Any change you make in the portal takes effect immediately. Cancellations show up on your tenant as **'Cancels at period end'** until the end of the billing period; after that the tenant enters the grace flow described in {doc}`trials-and-grace`.
