# I can't see the timesheet

**For:** Shift worker
**You'll need:** Nothing.

You clicked **Planning → Timesheet** and got a "you don't have permission" message (or the menu item isn't there). The timesheet is a manager-only view — workers don't have access to it.

## Check two possibilities

1. **Your role is shift worker, not manager.** Only managers and admins can open the timesheet. Ask your manager to either grant you a manager role on your locations, or to handle the timesheet task on your behalf. See {doc}`/track-time/timesheet/employee-access` for what workers can and can't do with time.
2. **You're scoped to a location where you're not a manager.** If you're a manager at one site and a worker at another, switching to the worker location will hide the timesheet menu item. Switch back, or use the company-wide view if you have it.
