# How to bulk-edit selected shifts

**For:** Manager
**You'll need:** A multi-selection of two or more shifts (see {doc}`multi-select-by-click`).

Apply the same change — location, area, position, headcount, notes, or assignments — to every selected shift in one form.

## Open the bulk-edit form

1. Build a selection with **'Alt+click'** (**'Option+click'** on macOS) or an **'Alt+drag'** lasso.
2. In the toolbar, click **'Edit selected'**.

The bulk form opens with a summary of the selected shifts at the top.

## Apply changes

1. Update any field you want to change for all selected shifts.
2. Click **'Save'**.

Only the fields you change are applied; everything else is left alone.

```{note}
Some bulk fields require all selected shifts to share the same starting value (for example, you can only bulk-edit assignments when every selected shift has the same location and position).
```

## Verify it worked

The selected shifts on the calendar now show the new value, and a success toast confirms the bulk update.
