# Period overview

**For:** Manager | Admin
**You'll need:** Permission to view reports (your manager will know).

Period overview is the one-page summary of a company period — hours worked, leave allowance, balance, headcount and coverage at a glance. It's the report most managers open first.

## Open the report

1. In the left sidebar, click **'Reports'**.
2. On the Reports landing page, click the **'Period overview'** card.

## Filter the data

Period overview is scoped to a single company period.

1. Open the **'Period'** dropdown at the top of the report.
2. Choose the company period you want to see.

The page reloads with totals for that period.

Don't see the period you expected? Company periods are set up under {doc}`/set-up-your-company/index`. If a period hasn't been created yet, ask your admin.

## Export

See {doc}`exports` for CSV, XLSX, and PDF details. Note that the period overview CSV uses a **semicolon** delimiter — pick semicolon when importing into Excel.

Columns in this report:

- Employee
- Employment type
- Leave type
- Contracted
- Worked
- Allowance
- Granted
- Used
- Balance

## Verify it worked

The period name in the header matches the one you picked in the dropdown. Each person on the team appears as a row, and the **'Balance'** column equals **'Allowance'** plus **'Granted'** minus **'Used'** for that leave type.
