# Delete a location

**For:** Manager | Admin
**You'll need:** A location that isn't the default and isn't referenced by shifts.

You'll remove a location from your company.

## Delete the location

1. Go to **Company → Locations** in the left sidebar.
2. Open the location you want to delete.
3. Click **'Delete'** at the bottom of the form.
4. In the **'Delete location?'** dialog, click **'Delete location'**.

## Verify it worked

The location no longer appears in the list at **Company → Locations**.

## When you can't delete

Two guards block deletion:

You can't delete the default location. Pick another location, mark it as default, then come back — see {doc}`set-the-default-location`.

You can't delete a location whose areas are used by shifts. Reassign or delete those shifts first, then try again.
