# How to change your language, region, and timezone

**For:** Manager | Shift worker | Admin
**You'll need:** Nothing.

You'll set the language {{ app_name }} talks to you in, the regional formats it uses for dates, times, and numbers, and the timezone your schedule is shown in.

## Set your language, region, and timezone

:::{tab-item} Web
:sync: web

1. Open the account dropdown (top-right) and click **'Settings'**.
2. Find the **'Language and region'** section.
3. Open the **'Language'** dropdown and choose your language.
4. Open the **'Region'** dropdown and choose your region (for example **'Switzerland'**, **'Germany'**, **'United States'**).
5. Open the **'Timezone'** dropdown and choose your timezone (for example **'Europe/Zurich'**).
6. Click **'Save'**.

The new language is activated on every request after you save.
:::

:::{tab-item} Mobile app
:sync: mobile

1. Tap **Settings** in the bottom bar.
2. Under **Preferences**, tap **'Language'** and pick English, German, French, or Italian. The app re-localises straight away.
3. Tap **'Region'** and pick your region, or **'Not set'** to leave it to the device.
4. Tap **'Time zone'** and pick your timezone.

There's no **'Save'** button — each pick is stored the moment you make it. **'Region'** and **'Time zone'** are the same values as on the web, so a change on your phone shows up in the browser too. **'Language'** is per-device: it changes the app on that phone only and doesn't touch the language the web app or your emails use.

Region drives the format of dates (`09.05.2026` vs `5/9/2026`), times (24-hour vs AM/PM), and numbers (`1.234,56` vs `1,234.56`).

Shift times, time entries, and reports are displayed in your timezone.

## Verify it worked

Reload the page. The interface should be in the new language. The header date and any times on the schedule should match the chosen region's format and timezone.
