# How to filter the shift list

**For:** Manager
**You'll need:** Nothing.

Narrow the list by location, area, position, person, status, date range, or a free-text note search.

## Open the filter sidebar

::::{tab-set}

:sync: web

1. Click **'Filter'** in the toolbar.

Filtering lives on the team schedule only — your own **Shifts** list isn't filterable.

1. Tap **Shifts** in the bottom bar, then the team icon in the top bar to open **Team schedule**.
2. Tap the filter icon in the top bar. (It appears only once the window has shifts to filter.)

## Apply filters

::::{tab-set}
:sync-group: platform

:::{tab-item} Web
:sync: web

1. Pick values in any of the **'Locations'**, **'Areas'**, **'Positions'**, **'People'**, **'Status'**, or **'Date range'** fields.
2. In the **'Search notes'** field, type any text to match against shift notes.
3. Click **'Apply filters'**.
:::

:::{tab-item} Mobile app
:sync: mobile

1. Under **Scope**, tick values in **Location**, **Area**, **Position**, and **Person**. Every box ticked means "no constraint".
2. Tap **Done**.

The options are built from the shifts already loaded — you can only filter by what's in view. There's no status filter, date range, or note search on mobile.

## Clear filters

::::{tab-set}
:sync-group: platform

:::{tab-item} Web
:sync: web

1. Click **'Clear'** in the filter panel.
:::

:::{tab-item} Mobile app
:sync: mobile

1. Reopen the filter, tick every option back on in each field, and tap **Done**.

When a filter hides every row the list says **No team shifts match this filter**, so you can tell an active filter from an empty window.

## Verify it worked

The table re-renders showing only matching shifts; the row count in the pagination footer updates to match.
