How to browse the shift marketplace#

For: Shift worker You’ll need: The marketplace turned on for your company.

The shift marketplace is where you find shifts going spare — vacancies your manager posted, and shifts your colleagues have offered up. You only ever see shifts you’re actually qualified to take, so there’s nothing on the list you can’t pick up.

Open the marketplace#

  1. In the header, open Planning.

  2. Click ‘Shift marketplace’.

  1. Tap More in the bottom bar.

  2. Tap ‘Shift marketplace’.

  3. Pull down to refresh.

Read the three views#

  • ‘Overview’ — live offers you’re eligible to take: open shifts posted by a manager, give-aways, and 1:1 swaps.

  • ‘My offers’ — shifts you’ve offered, with their current status.

  • ‘My responses’ — the offers you’ve responded to, and whether you got them.

The mobile app shows the same three, as a segmented control across the top of the ‘Shift marketplace’ screen.

Narrow the list#

Use the sidebar filter to focus on what fits:

  • Location and Position

  • Start date range

  • Type — open shift, give-away, or 1:1 swap

  • Order — by shift start, deadline, or when it was posted

The list is sorted soonest first by default, so the shift starting next is at the top.

Tap the filter icon in the top bar. The ‘Filter’ sheet offers a smaller set than the web:

  • ‘Type’ — ‘Open shift’, ‘Give away’, ‘1:1 swap’ (tick any combination).

  • ‘Status’ — ‘Pending’, ‘Selected’, ‘Not selected’, ‘Withdrawn’. This one filters your ‘My responses’ segment.

  • ‘Sorting’ — ‘Oldest first’ or ‘Newest first’, by shift start.

There’s no location, position, or date-range filter on mobile — use the web for those.

Note

The marketplace hides offers you can’t take. If a colleague mentions a shift you don’t see, you may not be qualified for that position or location, you may not be free at that time, or you may be missing a required skill.

Verify it worked#

Each row shows the shift’s date, time, location, position, the type of offer, and how long before it auto-expires. On the web, add ‘Spots’, ‘Posted by’, or ‘Posted on’ with ‘Manage columns’ if you want more detail; on mobile, tap the row and the detail lists them.
