Add an employment type#
For: Manager | Admin You’ll need: Nothing.
You’ll create an employment type with contracted hours, leave-policy links, and the default per-weekday hours that seed availability for people on this contract.
Open the form#
Go to Company → Employment types in the left sidebar.
Click ‘Add new employment type’ in the top-right.
Fill in the basics#
Enter a ‘Name’ (e.g. “Full-time 40h”).
Enter a short ‘Code’ (e.g. “FT40”).
(Optional) Add a ‘Description’.
Set the ‘Contracted hours’ per week.
Link leave policies#
In the ‘Leave policies’ section, pick a policy for each leave type your company uses.
Set default hours per weekday#
In the ‘Default hours per weekday’ section, enter the standard hours for each day of the week (Mon–Sun).
Click ‘Save’.
Tip
The per-weekday hours are the source for “Create availability from employment type” when you set up a person’s availability. Set them once here so you don’t have to re-enter them per person.
Verify it worked#
The new employment type appears at Company → Employment types.
