How to get demand forecasting#

For: Admin You’ll need: A plan that includes demand forecasting — Plus or Pro. Changing the plan is the account owner’s job.

Demand forecasting is not a switch inside the company settings — it is part of the Plus and Pro plans. On Core the demand pages are simply not there; on Plus or Pro they are, from the moment the plan takes effect. Nothing else has to be turned on.

Check whether you already have it#

  1. In the sidebar, open Planning.

  2. Look for a Demand subsection holding ‘Demand plan’, ‘Actuals’, ‘Drivers’, ‘Labor standards’, and ‘Markers’.

If the whole subsection is missing, your plan doesn’t include the feature. Opening one of those pages by its address anyway lands on the upgrade page, which reads ‘Demand forecasting is part of Plus’ — the account owner gets a ‘See plans’ button there; everyone else is told to ask them.

Get it#

The account owner changes the plan in the sign-in service — see How to change your plan. The sidebar entries appear right away; you don’t have to sign out and back in.

What changes, and what doesn’t#

  • The nightly forecast refresh starts running for your company.

  • The coverage grid uses the forecast wherever a labor standard resolves for that position and hour. Everywhere else it keeps using the position’s own headcount ladder, exactly as before.

  • Automatic assignment gains two checkboxes: one staffs shifts to the forecast, the other lets the forecast exceed a position’s maximum headcount. See How to assign people automatically.

  • Shift generation from demand becomes available. See Shift generation.

  • Nothing you have already planned is touched.

If the plan later drops back to Core#

The demand pages disappear from the sidebar and the nightly refresh stops. Your recorded history is kept — drivers, actuals, markers, and labor standards are never deleted, so moving back up to Plus picks up where you left off.

Verify it worked#

Planning → Demand → Demand plan opens. With no driver yet it shows ‘Nothing to plan against yet.’ and a ‘Create your first driver’ button — that is the correct starting state.
