How to review punch photos#
For: Manager | Admin You’ll need: Manager rights at the location, and a company running the kiosk in ‘PIN + photo’ mode.
You’ll open a finished shift on the timesheet, look at the photo taken with each punch, and mark it reviewed. Reviewing is the whole point of storing the photos — a stored photo nobody looks at is worse than no photo at all.
Open the review surface#
There’s exactly one place to review punch photos: the timesheet edit page.
In the header, go to Planning → Management → Timesheet.
Click the row you want to look at.
Scroll to the ‘Punch photos’ section.
Read a photo entry#
Each punch that stored a photo shows one entry with:
The kind of punch (‘Clock in’, ‘Clock out’, ‘Break start’, ‘Break end’).
The time it was captured, in the location’s time zone, and the name of the tablet.
A ‘Status’ badge: ‘Unreviewed’ while nobody has checked it, or ‘Reviewed’ with the reviewer’s name and the time they did it.
A thumbnail. Click it to open the full-size photo in a new tab.
The ‘Unreviewed’ marker is persistent — it stays until someone acts on it. Review sends no emails or push notifications, so the marker is the only thing carrying your attention. Make looking at it part of the same pass in which you approve hours.
Mark a photo reviewed#
On the entry, click ‘Mark reviewed’.
The badge flips to ‘Reviewed’ and records who you are and when you did it. That stamp is the evidence that review genuinely happens.
Note
Employees see their own photos on their own timesheet, but they don’t get the ‘Mark reviewed’ button. Reviewing is a manager action.
When a photo is missing#
You may see a warning row instead of a thumbnail: ‘Photo missing for Clock in — the punch was recorded under photo mode, but no photo arrived.’
That means the punch happened while photo mode was in force but the camera couldn’t deliver a frame — no permission, no hardware, or a broken camera. The punch is valid; only the photo is absent. Treat it as a signal to check the tablet, not as something the employee did — see What to do when the kiosk camera stops working.
Verify it worked#
Reload the timesheet edit page. The entry you acted on shows a green ‘Reviewed’ badge with your name and the time, and the ‘Mark reviewed’ button is gone.
