How to read the assigned-vs-required bar#
For: Manager You’ll need: Nothing.
Each cell shows how many people are assigned against how many are needed for that hour — a number pair and a colored bar. There’s no percentage; the color follows the size of the staffing gap.
What the cell shows#
Assigned — how many people are currently assigned to shifts covering that hour.
Needed — where a demand forecast resolves for the position and hour, the forecast is the requirement. Otherwise the position’s headcount settings decide, in this order: target headcount, then minimum headcount, then the highest minimum coverage among the position’s skill requirements, then one person per shift.
The cell renders the pair as assigned/needed — for example 2/3.
What the colors mean#
The color tracks the staffing gap (needed minus assigned), exactly as the legend states:
Green — ‘Full coverage’ — gap 0: everyone needed is assigned.
Amber — ‘Gap of 1’ — exactly one person short.
Red — ‘Gap of 2+’ — two or more people short.
The gap, not the ratio, decides the color: a cell with 8 of 10 assigned is red — it’s missing two people — while a cell with 1 of 2 assigned is amber.
