How to read the eligibility badges

How to read the eligibility badges#

For: Manager You’ll need: Nothing.

Each person in the assignment dropdown shows badges that tell you whether assigning them is safe, risky, or blocked.

Badge types#

Blocking error (red)

The assignment can’t be made with this person — and in the ‘Person’ dropdown they don’t appear at all. Common causes: a required skill is missing, the person isn’t eligible for this position at this location, they’re already on another shift at the same time, an unavailable block covers the shift, or they have no availability defined for the period.

Warning (amber)

The assignment is allowed but you should know about a conflict. Common causes: the shift only partially overlaps the person’s stated availability, a labor-law breach (rest-break or rest-period rule), an overtime threshold.

No badge

No conflicts detected — the person is fully qualified, available, and within the rules.

Where badges show up#

  • In the ‘Person’ dropdown of the assignment form — warnings only, since people with a blocking error are filtered out of the dropdown entirely.

  • In the quick-assign dropdown on a shift block — see How to quick-assign a person from a shift block.

  • In the ‘Show eligible people’ and ‘Show qualified people’ panels on the shift edit page.

  • In the hover tooltip of an assigned shift — see How to read the shift hover tooltip.

Verify it worked#

Open a shift’s edit page and expand ‘Show eligible people’. Anyone with a blocking error is absent from the ‘Person’ dropdown entirely; anyone listed with an amber badge can still be assigned, and the reason reads on the badge.
