Always-available mode#
For: Shift worker You’ll need: Nothing.
If you’re available for any shift your manager schedules, you don’t have to enter availability blocks. Shiftavo calls this always-available mode. On ‘My availability’ you’ll see the ‘Always available is active’ banner — “You don’t need to add your working hours. Mark dates when you are unavailable.” with the link ‘Change this in your personal settings’ — and the ‘Available’ and ‘Preferred’ sections will be hidden.
When to use always-available mode#
Leave it on if your manager assigns shifts directly and you don’t need to tell Shiftavo when you can work.
Always available doesn’t mean your time off is ignored. Your approved leave and the dates you mark as unavailable still count: nobody can schedule you then, and the shift marketplace doesn’t offer you a shift in that time.
Switch to availability mode#
If you’d rather have Shiftavo only schedule you when an availability block says you’re free:
Open the account menu (top-right) and click ‘Settings’.
Find the ‘Availability’ section.
Tick the ‘Set my availability’ checkbox.
Click ‘Save’.
The ‘Available’ and ‘Preferred’ sections appear on ‘My availability’ and the system starts checking your blocks before assigning shifts.
For the canonical reference, see How to set your availability mode.
Verify it worked#
The banner on ‘My availability’ is gone and the ‘Available’ and ‘Preferred’ sections are visible.
