Delete a person#
For: Manager | Admin You’ll need: A person you want to remove, and permission to delete people — Owner and Admin have it. Without it, the person’s page has no ‘Delete’ button.
You’ll mark a person as deleted. Their record stays in the database for audit but is hidden from the standard people list.
Delete the person#
In the sidebar, go to Company → People.
Open the person.
Click ‘Delete’.
In the ‘Delete item?’ dialog, click ‘Delete item’.
To remove several people at once, tick their rows in the people list — or open the ▾ menu in the selection column header and choose ‘Select this page’, or ‘Select all pages’ to take everyone the current filter matches, on every page. Then click ‘Delete selected’ below the table and confirm with ‘Delete item’. Only people at a location you have access to are ever removed.
Tap More in the bottom bar.
Tap ‘Manager’, then ‘People’.
Tap the person’s row.
Tap ‘Remove from company’, then confirm with ‘Delete’.
You can’t delete the Owner — Shiftavo refuses with “The owner must remain active.” — nor anyone whose role ranks above yours: “You cannot change a member with more authority.” (The mobile People list doesn’t show them at all.) When you delete several people at once — a ‘Select all pages’ selection included — anyone who can’t be removed is skipped, and the message counts them — for example “1 person couldn’t be removed. The owner must remain active.”
Note
This is a soft delete: the membership status becomes ‘Deleted’. Past shifts, leave requests, and reports keep referring to them.
Verify it worked#
The person no longer appears in the people list. Reports for past periods still include their data.
