How to read the shift hover tooltip

How to read the shift hover tooltip#

For: Manager You’ll need: A shift on the calendar.

Hovering a shift block opens a tooltip with assignment details and any validation issues — skill gaps, unavailability, or labor-law warnings.

Hover the shift#

  1. Move your mouse over the shift block (no click).

  2. The tooltip appears right away.

What the tooltip shows#

  • The shift’s position, location, area, start, and end.

  • The list of assigned people.

  • Any validation issues, in two groups: ‘Shift validation:’ lists issues on the shift itself, then ‘Assignment validation:’ lists per-person issues, each line prefixed with the person’s name — for example “Maria: 1 skill requirement not met”, followed by “– Missing required skill: Barista”.

Verify it worked#

The tooltip appears below the shift — above it when there’s no room below — and moving the mouse away closes it.

Note

Touch devices don’t show hover tooltips reliably. Tap the shift to open the edit page instead: the shift’s own checks are under ‘Requirements’, and each candidate’s issues under ‘Show eligible people’.
