I can’t sign in with single sign-on#
For: Manager | Shift worker | Admin You’ll need: Nothing to start; some fixes need your Owner or IT.
You typed your work email and either no ‘Continue with …’ button appeared, or you got as far as your company’s login and Shiftavo then turned you away. The message on the screen tells you which of these it is.
‘You don’t have a Shiftavo account yet’#
Your company’s login worked — Shiftavo just doesn’t know you. Signing in with a work account doesn’t create an account by itself; someone has to invite you first. Ask your manager or Owner to add you, then sign in again. Your invitation doesn’t need confirming by email: the first single sign-on login activates it.
‘That account is not part of this company’s verified domains’#
The address your company’s login sent us isn’t in a domain that company verified. Usually one of:
you signed in with a personal account rather than your work one — sign out at your provider and retry with the work account;
your company uses a domain we haven’t verified yet — your Owner asks us to add it;
Microsoft Entra ID only: your IT hasn’t added the email optional claim, so no address reaches us at all. That one is an IT change, and it blocks everybody.
‘Your access to this company is not active’#
You have a Shiftavo account, but your membership in that company is deactivated, suspended, or deleted. Signing in through your company’s provider can’t undo that on purpose — ask your manager to restore your access. See A person can’t sign in.
‘Single sign-on is not active for this company’#
The connection is switched off, or you followed an old link. If your company just set this up, ask your Owner to check the ‘Single sign-on’ section on Manage companies.
‘Your company requires single sign-on’#
You tried a password (or a password reset) for a company that requires single sign-on. Go back to the sign-in page, type your work email, and use the ‘Continue with …’ button instead. If you’re the Owner, your password still works — that’s deliberate, so a broken provider can’t lock the payer out.
Everyone stopped being able to sign in at once#
Almost always an expired client secret at your identity provider — Microsoft’s expire after a year or two. Your IT issues a new one and sends it to us. Owners can sign in with their password in the meantime.
Verify it worked#
Typing your work email brings up the ‘Continue with …’ button, and following it lands you in Shiftavo rather than back on an error page.
