How to delete a company#
For: Admin You’ll need: Owner role on the company, and your password or a code from your authenticator app. This action cannot be undone from the UI.
Warning
Deleting a company revokes every member’s access to it and permanently removes its data — people, schedules, time entries, leave history, and reports. Only do this if you’re sure you want to close the company in Shiftavo.
You’ll permanently close one of your companies. Shiftavo requires you to type the company name to confirm.
What it does to billing#
Deleting one company does not cancel your subscription. Your other companies keep running on the same subscription, and your seat count is recalculated — anyone who was only a member of the deleted company drops off the bill at the next proration.
If the company you delete is your last one, the subscription ends at the current billing period — the delete form says so.
Open the danger zone#
Open the account menu (top-right) and click ‘Account’.
Under ‘Danger zone’, click ‘Delete companies or account’.
Confirm it’s you on the ‘Confirm access’ screen — with your password, or with a code from your authenticator app. Shiftavo asks for this before showing the page, and doesn’t ask again for the next few minutes.
Start the delete#
Under ‘Delete companies’, find the company you want to delete.
In its section, type the company name exactly into the ‘Type <name> to confirm’ field. The ‘Delete’ button stays disabled until it matches — and a typed name that doesn’t match is refused with “Typed name doesn’t match. Deletion canceled.”
Click ‘Delete’ and confirm in the ‘Delete <name>?’ dialog. The dialog asks for no password — you already confirmed it’s you when the page opened.
Verify it worked#
The company is gone from your Manage companies list and from the company switcher. Members of that company are signed out on their next request; members who also belong to your other companies keep their access there.
