Delete employment types#

For: Admin You’ll need: Employment types you no longer use.

You’ll remove one or many employment types at once. An employment type can only be deleted while no people are on it.

Delete one#

  1. In the sidebar, go to Company → Employment types.

  2. Open the employment type.

  3. Click ‘Delete’.

  4. In the ‘Delete item?’ dialog, click ‘Delete item’.

Delete many at once#

  1. On the list, tick the checkbox at the start of each row — or open the ▾ menu in the selection column header and choose ‘Select this page’, or ‘Select all pages’ to take every employment type the current filter matches, on every page.

  2. Click ‘Delete selected’ below the table.

  3. In the ‘Delete item?’ dialog, click ‘Delete item’.

Ticks carry over when you move to another page of the list. If any selected employment type still has people on it — one that ‘Select all pages’ brought in included — nothing is deleted, and the app says how many people are in the way.

Verify it worked#

The employment type (or types) no longer appear at Company → Employment types.

When you can’t delete#

Warning

You can’t delete an employment type while people are assigned to it. The app says ‘Cannot delete employment type “X” because it is assigned to N person/people. Please change the employment type assignment first.’ Move those people to another employment type, then try again — see Edit a person.
