How to plan a recurring shift#
For: Manager You’ll need: A position and a location.
Describe the recurrence pattern once — daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly — and Shiftavo generates every occurrence in the location’s timezone (DST-safe).
Open the create form#
Go to Planning → Planning list and click ‘Create’ → ‘Shift’.
Fill in position, location, area, start, end, and notes — see How to add a shift.
Tap Shifts in the bottom bar, tap the + in the top bar, and choose Create shift.
Fill in start, end, location, area, position, and notes — see How to add a shift.
Turn on recurrence#
Tick the ‘Recurring’ checkbox. The recurrence sub-form appears.
Turn on the Repeat shift switch. The recurrence fields appear under it.
Pick a frequency#
From the ‘Frequency’ dropdown, choose ‘Daily’, ‘Weekly’, ‘Monthly’, or ‘Yearly’.
The form swaps in the right options for that frequency.
Tap Frequency and choose Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly.
The fields below swap to the ones that frequency needs.
Set the interval#
In the ‘Repeat every’ field, enter how often the pattern repeats —
1means every period,2means every other, etc.
In Repeat every, type how often the pattern repeats —
1means every period,2means every other. The unit next to it follows the frequency (day(s), week(s), month(s), year(s)).
Configure pattern (frequency-specific)#

Set the end condition#
Choose ‘Never’, ‘After N occurrences’, or ‘Until a date’.
If you chose ‘After N occurrences’ or ‘Until’, fill in the value.
Tap Ends and choose Never, Until date, or After N times.
For Until date, tap End date and pick one; for After N times, type the number into Occurrences.
Save#
Click ‘Save’.
Tap Save in the top bar (Done on iOS).
The series is generated; each occurrence becomes its own shift you can later edit, move, or delete individually.
Verify it worked#
The first occurrence appears at the start date and time you set, and following occurrences match the pattern.
