How to review the marketplace queue

How to review the marketplace queue#

For: Manager | Admin You’ll need: Permission to review the marketplace. The marketplace must be turned on for your company.

The queue is where you keep an eye on everything changing hands — open shifts you posted, give-aways and marketplace your team posted, what’s waiting on you, and what’s already resolved.

Open the queue#

  1. In the header, open Planning.

  2. Click ‘Manage marketplace’.

Offers that need a decision float to the top. Below them the list runs soonest first — the shift starting next is the one you’re most likely to care about, so that’s the default sort. Change it with the ‘Order’ dropdown in the filter panel (shift start, deadline, or when it was posted).

  1. Tap More in the bottom bar, then ‘Manager’.

  2. Tap ‘Manage marketplace’.

The queue arrives as one list under two segments at the top: ‘Open shifts’ (the vacancies you posted) and ‘Swaps’ (give-aways and 1:1 swaps your team posted). Pull down to refresh; the list pages in more as you scroll. ‘Nothing to review’ means the segment you’re on is empty.

Find what needs you#

Filter by ‘Status’ to focus:

  • ‘Open’ — posted, nobody matched yet.

  • ‘Pending approval’ — someone responded to a give-away or swap and it’s waiting on your decision.

  • ‘Partially filled’ — a multi-spot open shift with some spots still free.

  • ‘Completed’, ‘Rejected’, ‘Auto-rejected’, ‘Withdrawn’, ‘Expired’ — already resolved.

You can also filter by location, position, type, and shift date range, and choose which columns to show with ‘Manage columns’.

Every row carries its status as a badge, so you scan rather than filter. The segment itself is the main split: ‘Open shifts’ versus ‘Swaps’.

  1. Tap ‘Filter’ at the top right.

  2. Under ‘Sorting’, pick ‘Oldest first’ or ‘Newest first’ — this orders both segments by shift start.

  3. On the ‘Swaps’ segment only, a ‘Type’ scope also appears: tick ‘Give away’, ‘1:1 swap’, or both.

  4. Apply.

The queue on mobile carries only what needs a decision, so there’s no status, location, position, or date filter, and no column chooser — use the web app when you need to search resolved offers.

Read a row#

Open an offer to see it in full on the ‘Review offer’ page:

  • ‘Type’ — open shift, give-away, or 1:1 swap.

  • ‘Spots’ — how many people the offer needs.

  • ‘Posted by’ — the manager or employee who created it.

  • ‘Posted on’ — when they created it.

  • ‘Deadline’ — when an unmatched offer auto-rejects.

  • ‘Responses’ — everyone who’s put themselves forward, with their status, their return shift (on a swap), and their note.

Tap a row to open the offer. It’s titled by the shift’s position and location, and shows:

  • ‘Start’ and ‘End’, ‘Location’, ‘Area’ (when the shift has one), and ‘Position’.

  • ‘Status’ as a badge, and ‘Type’ — open shift, give away, or 1:1 swap.

  • ‘Spots’ — on an open shift only.

  • ‘Posted by’ — the manager or employee who created it.

  • ‘Deadline’ — when an unmatched offer auto-rejects.

  • ‘Notes’ — whatever the poster wrote.

  • ‘Responses’ — a row carrying the count. Tap it for everyone who’s put themselves forward, with their status, their note, and their return shift (on a 1:1 swap).

Note

Offers far enough ahead may be awarded without ever reaching you, if your company sets an approval cutoff — and an open shift in ‘First come’ claim mode awards itself to the first eligible responder by design. Only offers inside the cutoff land in ‘Pending approval’. See How to set shift-marketplace rules.

Verify it worked#

The list shows each offer with its shift, the people involved, the type, and the current status. Click a ‘Pending approval’ row to make a decision.
