How to set your own day forecast#
For: Manager | Admin You’ll need: The demand plan open for the week you want to change.
You know things the history doesn’t: a coach party booked in, a competitor closing for a week, a conference in town. Typing your own day total overrides the forecast for that day — and it sticks.
Set it#
Go to Planning → Demand → Demand plan and find the day.
Click into the ‘Your day forecast’ field on that row.
Type the total you expect for the whole day.
Click ‘Set’.
The row is marked ‘Yours’, and ‘Required hours’ and ‘Peak heads’ recompute against your number.
What happens to the shape of the day#
You give one number for the whole day; Shiftavo spreads it along that day’s own historical shape. If Fridays are quiet until 17:00 and busy until close, your total is distributed the same way — you don’t have to type an hourly curve.
It survives the nightly rebuild#
The forecast is regenerated every night. Your override is not overwritten: it stays until you clear it.
Clear it#
Open the same field on that row.
Click ‘Clear’.
The ‘Yours’ badge disappears and the day falls back to the computed forecast.
Tip
If you find yourself overriding the same weekday every week, the fix is probably a driver or a labor standard, not an override. Overrides are for one-off knowledge, not a standing correction.
Verify it worked#
The row shows your number under ‘Forecast’ with the ‘Yours’ badge, and the ‘Required hours’ figure changes to match.
