How to set general company settings#
For: Admin You’ll need: A role that covers the whole company and may edit company settings — Owner and Admin can.
You’ll set the country your company is based in, the default currency for hourly rates and payroll, and which day of the week your workweek starts on.
Open the company settings#
Open the account menu (top-right) and click ‘Settings’.
In the right column, find the ‘General’ section.
Set the country#
Open the ‘Country’ dropdown.
Choose your country.
The country drives default work policies and the statutory holiday seed.
Set the default currency#
Open the ‘Default currency’ dropdown.
Choose your currency (for example ‘CHF (CHF)’, ‘EUR (€)’, ‘USD ($)’).
Hourly rates, budgets, labor costs, and payroll exports all use this currency.
Warning
Set the currency before you enter any amounts. Once a person, employment type, or MLP entry has an hourly rate, or a budget holds a labor budget or revenue target, you can only switch to a currency with the same number of decimal places — ‘EUR (€)’ instead of ‘CHF (CHF)’ works, ‘JPY (¥)’ doesn’t: saving shows ‘Rates or budgets are already stored, and this currency uses a different number of decimal places. Choose one with the same.’ A switch relabels the stored amounts; it doesn’t convert them — a rate of CHF 30.00 becomes EUR 30.00.
Set the workweek start day#
Open the ‘Workweek start day’ dropdown.
Choose the day your workweek starts on (typically ‘Monday’ in DACH).
Weekly pay periods and weekly leave accrual start on this day. Weekly overtime limits don’t — they count from each work policy’s own ‘Workweek start day’.
Save#
Click ‘Save’.
Verify it worked#
Open a report or the schedule. Currency strings show in the new currency.
