Time compensation#
Time compensation is the running record of credit hours that build up when a person works under conditions the law (or your policy) compensates with time off rather than money — primarily Swiss night-work credit under ArG 17b (Arbeitsgesetz, Swiss labor law). It lives in the ‘Time accounts’ ledger (Company → Time & leave → Time accounts) under the kind ‘Night-work credit’, alongside the separate ‘Working time’ flextime balance — the two are never summed or transferred. The ledger also holds any manual adjustments HR posts to it.
The ledger is read-only. Credits flow in automatically when time entries are confirmed. They reverse automatically when the clock times are corrected, when ‘Undo confirmation’ removes manually entered or schedule-filled hours, and when the shift is deleted or the person is removed from it — the ledger rows survive with their shift link cleared. Unapproving an entry does not reverse a credit, and neither does ‘Undo confirmation’ on clocked punches, which stay. The only manual write path is the HR adjustment form.
For the same numbers rolled up one row per person, with opening and closing balances over a date range, see Time accounts report.
