How to apply a schedule template

How to apply a schedule template#

For: Manager You’ll need: At least one schedule template — see How to create a schedule template.

Generate a day’s, week’s, or month’s worth of shifts from a saved template in one click. Day templates replicate across each day of the target view; week templates align by weekday; month templates align by ordinal weekday (e.g. “second Tuesday”).

A template’s type must fit the current view: a day template applies in the day, week, or month view; a week template in the week or month view; a month template only in the month view. Otherwise the apply is refused with “Template type not compatible with current view” — switch views or pick another template. See How to create a schedule template.

Pick the template#

  1. In the toolbar, open the ‘Pick a template’ dropdown.

  2. Choose the template you want to apply.

Your selection is remembered until you sign out.

Apply it#

  1. Click ‘Apply’.

The shifts inside the template are generated into the visible date range. A success toast confirms how many shifts were created.

Note

Applying a template adds new shifts; it doesn’t replace what’s already there. Reapplying the same template is de-duplicated: where a shift with the same position, area, location, start, and end already exists, the template’s shift is skipped, so only what’s missing is created. Use How to undo your last change on the calendar if you need to back out of an apply.

A shift at another location does not count as an existing copy, even when its position and hours match.

Verify it worked#

New shift blocks appear on the calendar matching the template’s pattern.
