How a worker uses the kiosk#

For: Shift worker (no manager action needed on most days) You’ll need: A scheduled shift at this location today, and your 4-digit PIN.

You’ll tap your name, type your PIN, and pick one of four actions: ‚Clock in‘, ‚Clock out‘, ‚Start break‘, ‚End break‘.

At the start of your shift#

  1. Walk up to the tablet. The grid shows the people scheduled at this location today.

  2. Tap your card.

  3. Type your 4-digit PIN on the keypad.

  4. Tap ‚Clock in‘.

The card briefly confirms the action and goes back to the grid. Your status pill now reads ‚On‘.

Going on break#

  1. Tap your card.

  2. Type your PIN.

  3. Tap ‚Start break‘.

Your status pill reads ‚On break‘.

To come back from break, do the same and tap ‚End break‘.

At the end of your shift#

  1. Tap your card.

  2. Type your PIN.

  3. Tap ‚Clock out‘.

Your status pill reads ‚Off‘. If you were on a break, it’s closed automatically.

What if my card isn’t there?#

Your card appears if either of these is true today:

  • You’re scheduled at this location/area today.

  • You’re already clocked in somewhere.

If neither holds, ask your manager — your shift may have not been published yet, or you may be looking at the wrong tablet.

What if my PIN doesn’t work?#

  • Make sure you’re typing 4 digits — kiosk PINs are always 4 digits.

  • After 5 wrong attempts, the tablet locks you out for 15 minutes. Wait it out or ask a manager to reset your PIN (How to manage kiosk PINs).

  • If you’ve never been given a PIN, ask a manager to set one for you.

Common errors#

  • ‚You’re already clocked in at .‘ — You forgot to clock out at another tablet. Go there and clock out, or ask a manager to fix the timesheet.

  • ‚You’re not scheduled at this location.‘ — Wrong tablet, or the schedule wasn’t published in time.

  • ‚Wrong device.‘ — Your clock-in happened on a different tablet. Clock out where you clocked in.

  • ‚This period is locked.‘ — The manager has already approved this week for payroll. Ask them.
